John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado who was a specialist in folk music, has touched the hearts of millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Deutschedorf at Roswell near New Mexico, was in Love with Colorado. He settled in Aspen. Denver's anthems of fame about Colorado have inspired many people to move to the state. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the director of this hall of fame, stated: "I don't believe there is another performer that embodies Colorado as John Denver." Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its first member in 2011. Denver has been the symbol of Colorado to the many people across the globe. In my travels I've encountered people who are from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell that you're from Colorado, the first words they say are Oh John Denver. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads - cowritten with Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo performer after a brief stint in small folk bands. Danoff composed the tune to Johnny Cash but Denver recognized its potential the moment he heard it for the first time. Following the performance on stage in Washington D.C. to a large audience, Denver made a recording a few days afterward.
